16 Days of Activism Grant
Manningham Council in partnership with Respect Victoria, Safe and Equal is offering small grants of up to $1,000 for community groups or organisations to host initiatives that help spread the message to the Manningham community that violence against women, girls and non-binary people is always unacceptable. The funded activities are to be held in the City of Manningham and focus on the people of Manningham.
Who can apply?
Community groups and organisations that are registered as not-for profit organisations or a company limited by guarantee. Community groups and organisations who are not registered as not-for-profit organisations may apply if they are auspiced by an eligible not-for-profit organisation.
Information about your organisation will be shared on Respect Victoria’s and Safe and Equal’s event calendars, as well as through Manningham Matters and associated social media channels.
If you have any safety concerns or prefer not to have your organisation promoted publicly, please let us know.
What kinds of projects will be funded?
You could host an event like an exhibition, panel discussion or morning tea, develop a social media campaign/podcast/enewsletter/ book club discussion on a related topic. The important thing is to raise awareness that violence against women, girls, and non-binary people is never acceptable.
Manningham Council acknowledges that women and girls from multicultural communities, First Nations communities, the LGBTQIA+ community or people living with mental health issues or disability may be more at risk of experiencing family violence. Applications that intentionally include messaging to these groups or consider intersectionality, will be favourably considered, as will groups that traditionally connect with or work with men and boys.
